Step 1

First, you need to process the peel of the watermelon. To do this, remove the green rind from each rind with a sharp knife. You should only have the white part. Rinse the crusts thoroughly, cut them in any shape into small pieces.

Pour clean water into a deep saucepan, add watermelon rinds and cook for about 10-15 minutes. Do not forget to periodically remove the formed foam. Next, put the crusts in a colander to drain the excess liquid. Place the crusts in a cup.

Take an orange and lemon, wash the peel. Peel and cut into thin strips. Place the citrus zest over the watermelon rind, stir.

The next step is to prepare the jam syrup. Add granulated sugar to clean water. Place the pot on the hotplate and stir. When the syrup comes to a boil, lower the temperature and transfer the watermelon, lemon and orange peels to a saucepan.

Step 5

Turn off the stove. Leave the jam to cool completely for 8-15 hours. After this time, the jam should be boiled well. In this case, do not forget to add an additional 1-2 slices of orange or lemon peel. The jam boiling time is 20 to 30 minutes. As a result, put the jam in sterilized jars of 300-500 g and roll up tightly.
