- For 12 balls:
- -1 tablespoon canola oil
- -1 cup unopened corn kernels
- -1/2 cup walnuts
- -1/2 cup raisins
- -3 glasses of sugar
- -1/4 cup rum (optional)
- -3 tablespoons butter
- -1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- -1 cup and 1/2 teaspoon salt
- -sunflower oil

Step 1
Fill 1/4 of a large saucepan with sunflower oil. Place on medium heat. When the oil is fully heated, add the corn kernels. Cover the pot with a lid and shake constantly. Remove from heat when the cracking of the beans stops.
Step 2
Transfer the popcorn to a bowl from a saucepan. Add walnuts and raisins to it. Set aside. Heat sugar in a small saucepan over low heat. After the sugar has completely melted, pour the popcorn over it and stir thoroughly.
Step 3
When the popcorn is all covered in sugar, pour in some rum, dip in the butter and add the vanilla and salt to taste. Stir. Be careful, the resulting caramel may splatter you. Line a baking sheet with foil and grease it with butter. Transfer the popcorn from the pot to the foil. Let cool slightly.
Step 4
Use a spoon to scoop the popcorn into balls and set to harden. Then pour the caramel syrup on top. Your sweet caramel popcorn balls are ready.
