Most often we make a casserole with potatoes or pasta. But the rice casserole will be just as delicious.
It so happens that there is a lot of rice cooked for a side dish or salad. Eating boiled rice will be much tastier in the form of such a casserole.
For a rice casserole, you will need: 800 ml of boiled rice, 200 g of cheese (mozzarella or other, to taste), 100-200 g of ham, 2 eggs, 1 medium carrot, salt, pepper and herbs (for example, parsley, dill) for taste, 200 ml of milk.
Making a Rice Casserole:
Cut the ham into small cubes or thin strips, grate the carrots on a fine grater. Mix milk with eggs, salt, beat the mixture with a blender or mixer.
Mix the ham with the rice and half of the grated cheese, season with salt and pepper, add most of the herbs. Place this mixture in a greased baking dish, then pour over the milk and eggs. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the casserole and place in the preheated oven. Bake at 200 degrees Celsius until golden brown. Serve hot, sprinkling with leftover greens on top.
Helpful hint: Add 50-100 grams of cream cheese to the milk and egg mixture and your casserole will become even more tender and tasty.
It should also be emphasized that such casseroles should be prepared not strictly adhering to the recipe, but fantasizing a little. For example, I think you can add vegetables such as bell peppers (diced), green beans, or corn (frozen) to rice.
