Americans are very resourceful people, especially in creating new dishes. One Denver-based entrepreneur thought the diner was fed up with regular hot dogs and created a hot dog recipe with mint leaves that instantly became a hit. Banh Mi Dog is what he named his new dish. But among the customers of the diner, this hot dog received the nickname - "Vietnamese". The fact is that in Vietnam there is a traditional Bang Mi dish to which fresh mint leaves are also added.

It is necessary

  • - fresh mint leaves;
  • - mayonnaise, preferably with the addition of lemon juice;
  • - ketchup, preferably spicy;
  • - sugar;
  • - 1 hot dog bun;
  • - 1 sausage;
  • - 1 fresh cucumber;
  • - Korean carrots.

Instructions

Step 1

We boil the sausage, which we will use for cooking. For this hot dog, I recommend buying sausages at least 18 centimeters long. It is very easy to find such sausages in supermarkets, some manufacturers label them as "Hot dog sausages".

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix two tablespoons of mayonnaise with a teaspoon of hot ketchup. Add half a teaspoon of sugar to our mixture and mix again. I strongly recommend using spicy ketchup, it is he who, in combination with mint and mayonnaise, gives a bright taste to this hot dog.

Step 3

Cut open the hot dog bun and coat well with the previously prepared mixture. It is best to use buns for hot dogs, and not a loaf, as is done in domestic eateries. These buns can be found in the Lenta and Auchan hypermarkets.

Step 4

Place the sliced cucumber in the hot dog bun. We put the boiled sausage on them and grease it on top with the remaining mixture. Put Korean carrots on top of the sausage. And on the very top we put 3-4 mint leaves.
