    • 1/2 cup sugar

    • 250 g sugar;
    • 2 eggs;
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 200 g butter;
    • vanilla sugar.

Step 1

Mix flour and salt, add lemon juice, egg to water and stir. Knead a tough dough out of water and flour. Soften the butter, cut into small pieces. Roll out the dough in one layer, about one and a half to two centimeters wide, put pieces of butter on it, fold the layer in half, roll it to the same size, fold it again and roll it out again. Repeat the operation at least three more times (the more the folding is repeated, the more layers there will be in your dough).

Roll out the dough one last time to a thickness of one to one and a half centimeters, cut out circles with a shape or a glass with sharp edges. Pour sugar in a saucer, dip the circles with one side in sugar, spread on a work surface sprinkled with flour. Then go over them with a rolling pin, giving the circles the shape of a tongue.

Preheat the oven to 180 ° C, moisten the baking sheet with water, put the tongues on it, put in the oven and bake for about twenty minutes.

Prepare tongues with a sugar layer: add an egg, milk, 100 grams of sugar to the water. Knead into a dough with 250 grams of flour and prepared liquid. Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the rest of the sugar, keep the mixture on low heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Step 5

Remove the butter-sugar mixture from the heat, cool slightly and add the egg, mix thoroughly until smooth. Roll out the dough one to one and a half centimeters thick, use a brush to apply a layer of the butter-sugar mixture to the entire surface, fold the layer in half and roll out to the previous size. Repeat the operation several times.

Step 6

Cut out circles from the dough, give an oval shape with a rolling pin, sprinkle with vanilla sugar. Preheat the oven to 180 ° C, moisten a baking sheet with water, place the tongues and bake for twenty minutes.
