  • - almonds or walnuts - 50 g;

  • - shortbread cookies - 50 g;
  • - butter - 100 g;
  • - icing sugar - 2 tablespoons

Step 1

Make a stretched dough. To do this, sift the flour together with salt. Place a bunch of flour on your worktable. In the middle, form a notch, pour vegetable oil into it, then some water. Preheat the water to 35oC.

Knead the dough, gradually adding water, you need to get an elastic semi-finished product. To prevent the dough from sticking to your hands, grease them with oil. At the end of the batch, perform the procedure for beating the dough on the table. Next, wrap the finished piece with foil, leave to rest for 40-50 minutes.

Step 3

It's time to prepare the filling. Wash the berries, free them from the seeds. Combine 200 g of sugar with cherries, stir. Place the mixture in a saucepan and heat until boiling. Remove the pan from heat, cool. Drain the syrup and put the berries in a colander.

Step 4

Dry the nuts in a clean frying pan for a few minutes, process them with a blender. Do the same for the cookies. Gather the food together, stir.

Step 5

Put the prepared dough on a towel and sprinkle it with flour. Initially, knead it into a cake with your hands. Then roll out with a rolling pin to a medium thickness. Next, start the stretching process, lift the ends of the towel, pull gently in a circle.

Step 6

It is necessary to get a dough of such subtlety that a towel pattern can be seen through it. Be sure to glue the torn places on the cake with a piece of dough. Cut the prepared cake, free from thick edges. Spread butter on one side.

Step 7

Sprinkle the crumble of nuts and cookies on an elongated cake, leaving clean edges of 3-5 cm. Spread the cherries and the remaining granulated sugar evenly. Roll the food, tuck the edges. Cover the baking sheet with baking paper, lay out the classic strudel. Lubricate the top of the culinary work with oil.

Step 8

Heat the oven to 180 degrees. Set the baking sheet with the roll for 30-40 minutes. Decorate the finished puff pastry strudel with powdered sugar, pour over with cherry syrup.
