Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of pork meat;
  • 1 large bulgarian pepper;
  • 2 garlic cloves;
  • oregano;
  • ground black pepper - on the tip of a knife;
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 large ripe tomato;
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.

Preparation:

  1. The first step is to prepare the meat. To do this, rinse it thoroughly in running water and remove all excess with a sharp knife (films, small bones, and so on). Then the pork needs to be cut into cubes of approximately the same size.
  2. The onion must be peeled and washed. Then it is cut into large squares.
  3. For bell peppers, you need to remove the testis and stalk. Rinse it well and cut it into large enough squares.
  4. Peel the garlic cloves and chop them with a garlic press. Place in a deep cup. Add olive oil, lemon juice and oregano there. Mix everything well. You will have a fragrant marinade.
  5. Put the prepared pork in a deep bowl, add chopped onions and bell peppers. Then the marinade is added to these ingredients. Everything mixes well. After that, the bowl must be put in a cool place (for example, in the refrigerator) for at least 3 hours.
  6. You will need small wood skewers. On each of them you need to string meat, onions and sweet bell peppers, alternating them with each other.
  7. Place food foil at the bottom of the baking sheet and a wire rack on top of it. Prepared souvlaki are laid out directly on the wire rack. After that, they need to be sent to an oven preheated to 180 degrees. The fragrant pork souvlaki will be ready in about half an hour.
  8. For the finished dish, you can serve a salad of fresh vegetables and herbs, as well as your favorite sauces that are combined with meat.
