Boiled condensed milk is a very tasty delicacy that is loved by both children and adults. The area of its application in cooking is quite extensive: boiled condensed milk is added to cream for cakes and pastries, wafer rolls and the famous cookies in the form of nuts are filled with them, and they are also used simply as an additive to tea or coffee. "Varenka" can be bought in stores, but its taste will only remotely resemble that boiled milk from childhood. Much better and better quality is the product cooked at home from a can of whole condensed milk.
It is necessary
- - whole condensed milk with a fat content of 8% - 1 can;
- - a deep saucepan with a lid or slow cooker;
- - water - 3-4 liters.
Instructions
Step 1
How to cook condensed milk in a saucepan.
Remove the label from a can of whole condensed milk and place it in a deep saucepan on the barrel. Pour in enough water to cover the jar completely with a margin. Place the pot on the stove, bring the water to a boil, then cover and turn the temperature down to a low setting. The cooking time for boiled condensed milk depends on how thick the product you need to get at the exit. If you want it to thicken just a little and acquire the color of caramel, then you need to cook condensed milk for 2 hours. If the milk has a thick coffee-colored consistency, then the brewing time is 3 - 3, 5 hours.
Step 2
The most important nuance: during the cooking process, the water boils away, despite the fact that a low temperature is set. In no case should the edges of the jar be allowed to be exposed. This threatens to explode and damage the product and dishes. Therefore, if you notice that the water has decreased in volume, you will need to add hot water to the pan so that there are no temperature changes.
Remove the prepared boiled condensed milk from the pan and cool naturally or under running cold water. After that, the bank can be opened and used for its intended purpose.
Step 3
How to cook condensed milk in a slow cooker.
Similar to the process of boiling condensed milk in a saucepan, remove the label from the jar before starting. Place a silicone mat or an ordinary small kitchen towel on the bottom of the multicooker bowl. Place the jar sideways and fill the bowl with 3-3.5 liters of water so that the water covers the condensed milk with a supply. Then set to "Steam" or "Boil" mode. Immediately, as soon as the water boils, switch the multicooker to the "Quenching" mode and cook under a closed lid for 2-3 hours, depending on the desired consistency of the finished product.
After the time has elapsed, drain the water from the bowl, remove the jar and cool before opening.
