Pineapple Flip Pie is a popular American traditional dessert. It is impossible not to fall in love with this cake: it is easy to prepare, delicious in taste and looks incredibly impressive when served.
It is necessary
- - a can of canned pineapples;
- - 3 cups brown or plain sugar;
- - 300 g butter;
- - a bag of vanilla sugar;
- - 2 tsp baking powder;
- - 1, 5-2 glasses of flour;
- - 2 eggs.
Instructions
Step 1
The peculiarity of making a pie is that it is baked "bottom up", i.e. Pineapple slices are placed on the bottom of a baking dish, poured over with dough and, after complete readiness, turn over. A nice caramel crust forms on the top of the pie, covering the pineapple layer.
Step 2
Before preparing the pie, it is necessary to drain the juice from a can of canned pineapples and dry them thoroughly with a paper towel, because a lot of liquid will come out during baking and the cake may be too loose.
Step 3
In a small container, mix 90 g of fine-crystalline brown sugar and 100 g of softened butter. Brown sugar can be replaced with regular sugar, it does not have a special effect on the taste of the cake. The mixture is evenly distributed over the bottom of the pre-oiled mold, after which pineapple rings or slices are placed on it. Cherry berries can be placed in the center of the rings to decorate cocktails or dessert cherries.
Step 4
In a separate bowl, beat a pack of softened butter and 185 g of sugar until a homogeneous fluffy mass is formed, gradually adding 2 eggs and a bag of vanilla sugar to it. In the resulting oil mixture, gently mix 1, 5-2 cups of sifted flour, 2 tsp. baking powder and 150 g of pineapple juice. The dough is poured over a layer of pineapples and placed in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. The baking time is on average 45-60 minutes.
Step 5
The cake is taken out of the oven, covered with a clean dry cloth, and after cooling, it is turned onto a plate with a pineapple layer up. The traditionally warm pie is served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
