Bretzel occupies a special place in the culture of Germany: in Luxembourg, during the celebration of "Bretzel Sunday", the product becomes a traditional souvenir, in Bavaria special beer pretzels are made.
It is necessary
- - 600 g flour;
- - salt;
- - 10 g of fresh yeast;
- - 100 g of soda;
- - 1 egg;
- - 400 g of warm boiled water;
- - 80 g of butter;
- - sugar.
Instructions
Step 1
Dilute yeast with warm water. Add one teaspoon of sugar and mix thoroughly. Mix flour with a little salt and sugar. Mash the mixture with butter and mix with yeast diluted in water.
Step 2
Transfer the dough to a separate container and leave in a warm place for an hour, covering it with a towel. Dissolve the baking soda in two liters of water and bring to a boil. Make 10 sausages from the dough.
Step 3
The width of each sausage should be no more than two centimeters. At the same time, make the ends thinner than the middle. Fold each piece into a horseshoe, wrap each end in the opposite direction. As a result, you should end up with a three-hole pretzel.
Step 4
Dip the pretzels in boiling water and baking soda and wait for the items to float to the surface. Put the pretzels on foil or parchment paper, brush with egg yolk and bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes.
