Dumplings are the Ukrainian version of the name of a dish made from unleavened dough with vegetable, berry, meat or curd filling. Such boiled envelopes are made in many countries of the world. The difference is only in the filling, form and name. For example, in Italy, the place of dumplings is taken by ravioli, and in China - by wontons.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the dumplings dough in advance. Divide the dough into several pieces. Shape each piece into a thin sausage with your hands.

Step 2

Use a knife to cut each sausage into small pieces. Roll each piece in flour on both sides. And each time, try to slightly press on a piece of dough with your index finger.

Step 3

Use a rolling pin to roll each piece of dough into a circle. If the filling of the dumplings is vegetable, the dough should be 1.5 mm thick. For berry dumplings, roll out the dough to only 3 mm.

Step 4

Place the filling in the center of each rolled dough circle: it should occupy about a third of the area of the dough.

Step 5

Take the future dumpling folded in half in your left hand. With your right hand, make even pintucks along the entire remaining semicircle.

Step 6

Place the finished dumplings on a cutting board, but leave a small distance between them.
