Bran is an incredibly healthy product. They contain dietary fiber that helps the intestines and improves its microflora. Eating bran will help lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels. Plus, bran bread helps you lose weight. Although the process of making such bread is quite laborious, it is really worth it.
It is necessary
-
- 400 g flour;
- 50 g of bran;
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon dry yeast;
- 1 flat teaspoon of salt;
- 200 ml of warm water;
- 1 tablespoon olive or sunflower oil.
Instructions
Step 1
Place active dry yeast and sugar in a small bowl and dilute with warm water. Stir everything and leave in a warm place for 20-30 minutes. During this time, the yeast will begin to disperse, and foam will appear on the surface of the liquid.
Step 2
Sift the flour into a large bowl or bowl, add salt, bran and mix. Add vegetable oil (olive or sunflower) to this mixture, depending on your taste.
Step 3
Pour the water with yeast into a bowl of flour in a thin stream, gently stirring all the ingredients with a wooden spatula. Do this until the flour has absorbed all the liquid and you have a smooth paste.
Step 4
Knead the dough by hand for about 5 minutes, until soft and elastic. This procedure can be facilitated by using a food processor. Knead the dough in it for 2-3 minutes at medium speed and another couple of minutes at high speed. Well-mixed dough should not stick to your hands or to the sides of the food processor cup.
Step 5
Form a ball of the kneaded dough and leave it in a warm place for an hour and a half or two in a warm place.
Step 6
The dough should double to three times. When it comes up, shape it into a round loaf, make a cruciform cut at the top, and place it on a baking sheet sprinkled with cornmeal or bran. Cover the future bread with a tea towel and leave to rise in a warm place for about one hour.
Step 7
Turn on the oven 15-10 minutes before baking, it should warm up to 220-230 degrees.
Place a bowl of cold water on the bottom of the oven before baking.
Step 8
Place the baking sheet with the dough in the oven and bake the bread at 220 degrees for about forty minutes.
Step 9
Transfer the finished loaf of bread to a wire rack and let cool for 20 minutes.
