Cheese sticks are salty, soft, and fragrant. Even after cooling, they do not harden - only the upper crust dries up a little. Baking with a light garlic aroma and a delicate milky taste, which is given by the combination of cheese with butter and cottage cheese, goes well with any drink - beer, wine, coffee and even kefir. It is convenient to take cheese sticks with you on the road.
It is necessary
-
- 3/4 cup flour
- 120 g butter
- 200 g cottage cheese
- 150 g of cheese (you can take any kind
- which is easy to grind)
- a bunch of dill
- 1 small clove of garlic
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1
Remove the butter from the refrigerator and bring it to room temperature. Then it should be whipped with cottage cheese, salt and pepper.
Step 2
In the resulting mass, it is necessary to mix in grated cheese, finely chopped dill (without tough stems) and a clove of garlic, passed through a meat grinder or press. The more salty cheese you use, the less salt you need to take. If you want to get a pungent taste, then you should add hot pepper.
Step 3
Next, add flour with baking powder and knead a dense and slightly sticky dough. After that, it must be put into the refrigerator until slightly hardened.
Step 4
While the dough is cooling, it is necessary to lay a plastic wrap on the table. Put the dough on it and knead it with your hands into a flat cake. On top, you need to put another piece of plastic wrap. Then you need to roll out the dough into a layer 1 cm thick and remove the top film.
Step 5
If desired, the layer of dough can be sprinkled with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, paprika, parsley, caraway seeds, etc. Try making cheese sticks with different toppings, even sweet ones!
Step 6
The dough must be rolled with a rolling pin so that the sprinkling sticks to it. Then the dough should be cut into strips. Transfer the strips to a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
Step 7
The oven should be preheated to a temperature of 200-220 degrees and put a baking sheet with cheese sticks in it. Bake the sticks until browning - this is about 20 - 30 minutes.
