It is necessary

  • - 240 g of raisins;
  • - 190 g of prunes;
  • - 190 g of dried apricots;
  • - 125 g dried cranberries;
  • - 1 large apple;
  • - 100 ml of rum;
  • - 100 g of butter;
  • - 2 oranges;
  • - 100 g of cane sugar;
  • - 3 medium eggs;
  • - 125 g flour;
  • - 1 and 3/4 tsp mixtures of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves;
  • - 75 g of crispbread;
  • - 75 g of peeled almonds.

Instructions

Step 1

Remove the zest from the oranges with a special knife or fine grater, squeeze the juice from the citrus fruits.

Step 2

Prepare dried apricots with prunes in advance: chop them finely and soak in juice squeezed from oranges for a day.

Step 3

Lightly bake the apple in the oven so that it softens a little. Remove the skin from it and cut into small cubes. Add to dried apricots and prunes and leave for a couple of hours.

Step 4

Take the butter out of the refrigerator in advance so that it softens, and then beat it with brown sugar (use finely ground sugar!) Until a fluffy creamy mass.

Step 5

Beat the eggs a little in a separate bowl, and then add to the butter-sugar mixture along with the orange zest.

Step 6

Mix flour with a mixture of cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and cinnamon. Sift dry ingredients through a sieve. Stir in liquid ingredients.

Step 7

Chop the peeled almonds into medium crumbs. Turn the bread into crumbs. Put it, along with prepared almonds, dried fruits and orange juice, into the dough.

Step 8

Lightly grease the refractory form with oil and place the foil on the bottom. Put the dough in the prepared form, tamping well (help yourself with a spatula!).

Step 9

Cover the cake pan with baking paper, then with foil. Secure with cooking string and place in a pot of boiling water. Cover and cook in a water bath for 7 hours. Don't forget to check the water level in the pot!

Step 10

Allow the finished product to cool completely, then free from foil and baking paper. Make punctures in the dough and soak the baked goods with aromatic alcohol (rum). Wrap the soaked cake in baking paper. In this form, it can be safely stored in the refrigerator for up to two months!
