It is necessary

  • - 4 herrings, preferably large;
  • - 2 red onions;
  • - 2 regular onions;
  • - half a small bunch of dill;
  • - 100 milliliters of any dry white wine;
  • - 3 tablespoons of wine vinegar;
  • - 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar;
  • - 3 carnation buds;
  • - 2 pcs. bay leaves;
  • - five black peppercorns and salt.

Instructions

Step 1

Gut the herring, then rinse it well. Peel the red onion, wash it, then cut it into rings. The dill is washed in running water and finely chopped.

Step 2

The herring fillet is carefully separated from the bones and wrapped in rolls, which are placed tightly to each other in a deep dish.

Step 3

White onions are peeled, washed in water and the onions are cut into four parts. Sprinkle them lightly with vinegar.

Step 4

A glass of water is poured into a saucepan and brought to a boil, bay leaves, white onions, peppercorns and clove buds are placed in it. Boil the mixture, covered with a lid over very low heat for fifteen minutes. Then add white wine and continue boiling for another five minutes.

Step 5

The resulting marinade is cooled, the remaining vinegar is added and carefully filtered. Pour herring rolls over it and put it in a cool place for nine hours.

Step 6

When the dish is ready, spread the herring on a serving plate and cut into portions. Decorate the top with red onion rings and herbs.
