This pie is a self-sufficient dish. The filling is soft chicken covered with delicate sauce. Complements the taste, gives aroma and slight sweetness to the carrots. Delicious crispy crust infused with chicken juices. American Chicken Pie can optionally be complemented with green peas and celery, as in the original recipe.

- - soda - 1/4 tsp;
- - vegetable oil - 2 tsp;
- - sour cream - 100 g;
- - flour - 80 g.
Instructions
Step 1
Start cooking American pie by preparing the dough. Sift flour into a bowl, add baking soda and salt to it. Pour in vegetable oil and sour cream. Mix everything well. If the dough seemed sticky to you, add flour, and if dry, then add sour cream.
Step 2
Place the dough in the refrigerator while you cook the chicken. Wash the onions, carrots and chicken in water. Peel and chop the carrots into strips. Cut the fillet into cubes. Chop the onion finely.
Step 3
Pour 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil into a skillet, turn on medium heat. Put prepared carrots in a preheated pan. Simmer for five minutes, stirring occasionally. The carrots should be soft, but not toasted.
Step 4
Increase the heat to maximum, add the chopped chicken pieces to the carrots. Stir and fry them for two minutes. Chicken pieces should turn white on the outside and remain damp on the inside. Season with pepper and salt, and place chicken and carrots in a baking dish.
Step 5
Add oil to the skillet and place onion. Simmer over medium heat until soft and discolored. Pour flour into the onion and fry for half a minute, stirring occasionally. Pour cold milk into the mixture in a thin stream, stirring vigorously. Add enough milk to make a thick sauce. Add pepper and salt. Stir constantly and cook for 2 minutes. Then pour the sauce over the fried chicken pieces.
Step 6
Take the mold in your hands and shake it a little so that the sauce saturates the entire contents of the mold and reaches the bottom. Remove the dough from the refrigerator, dust the table with flour and start rolling the dough on it. Stretch it with your hands into a circle, similar in diameter to the diameter of the shape.
Step 7
Moisten the edges of the mold with water. Place the dough on top of the mold and press it to the edges. Cut off excess dough. Punch a small hole in the center for the steam to escape. Brush the surface of the dough with oil, water or an egg.
Step 8
Preheat oven to 200oC and place mold inside. Place American Chicken Pie inside for 25 minutes. When the surface is browned, cover the top with a sheet of foil and bake for another 15 minutes.
