Indian cuisine has a lot of simple, but at the same time unusual and very tasty dishes. For example, these are coconut pies. This delicacy has a very delicate and pleasant taste.
It is necessary
- For filling:
- - freshly grated coconut - 1.25 cups;
- - date sugar - 0.75 cups;
- - cardamom powder - 0.5 teaspoon.
- For the test:
- - flour - 0.75 cups;
- - semolina - 2 tablespoons;
- - ghee - 1 teaspoon;
- - milk - 0.5-0.75 glasses.
Instructions
Step 1
Put the coconut finely grated into a free skillet. Then add the date sugar there. Mix everything thoroughly, then put on the stove and fry over medium heat, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes. Add cardamom to the resulting mass. This way you should have a pretty thick mixture.
Step 2
Combine ingredients such as wheat flour and semolina in a separate bowl. Add ghee, butter melted in a special way, to the resulting dry mixture, preheating it. Mix everything well. Move the mass to the side for a couple of minutes. After the time has elapsed, add milk at room temperature to it. Mix everything until smooth, cover it with a lid for a quarter of an hour.
Step 3
After 15 minutes have passed, sprinkle the kneaded dough with a little milk and mix well.
Step 4
Divide the finished dough into small pieces and roll out of each ball. Turn the round figurines into tortillas and place a teaspoon each of the coconut filling on top of them. Gently pinch the future cakes.
Step 5
Pour a generous amount of deep-frying oil into a deep, thick dish. In it, fry the coconut cakes on each side until they turn golden.
Step 6
Blot the finished treat with paper napkins - this will remove excess oil. Coconut pies are ready!
