Instructions
Step 1
Separate 50 grams from the butter and divide it into two equal portions. Also halve the sugar, flour, baking powder, milk, and eggs. Basically, you will have to prepare two muffins.
Step 2
Preheat oven to 160C. Grease a 1-pound cake pan with butter. Whisk in half the butter and half the sugar, add three eggs one at a time, whisking. Sift the measured half of the flour with half of the baking powder. Knead a light dough by adding room temperature milk, red food coloring and half vanilla extract. Bake a "red" muffin. Until tender, the cake will be baked for an hour or more. Check the pastry with a wooden stick, if the dough does not stick to it - the cake is ready.
Step 3
Refrigerate the "red" muffin. Cut into slices 3-4 centimeters wide. Cut the hearts out of them using a special mold.
Step 4
Knead the remaining ingredients into a second cake, replacing the cocoa food coloring. If you wish, you can add candied fruits, ground nuts, pieces of dried fruit to this cake. At the same time, cocoa is not an obligatory ingredient, if you want the cake to be golden yellow instead of chocolate, do not put the fragrant powder.
Step 5
Pour more than half of the dough into the muffin pan. Collect the turret from the cut out hearts and immerse it in the dough, pour the rest of the mixture. Bake those at the same temperature for about an hour.
Step 6
The finished cake can be covered with chocolate icing. For her, grate or break the bitter chocolate into pieces and melt it in cream over low heat, not forgetting to stir. Chill slightly and decorate the cupcake. Sprinkle with sugar hearts on a slightly damp icing.
