Step 1

Choose a few medium-sized and well-shaped potatoes. Chips made from such potatoes will turn out beautiful and even and will resemble ordinary chips in appearance. Wash the potatoes thoroughly and peel them off. Be sure to cut off the eyes when cleaning, because chips with a lot of holes cut out will be ugly.

Step 2

Subsequently, cut the potatoes into thin slices using a very sharp knife or a special knife for cutting and peeling vegetables. You can also use a food processor to help you cut the potatoes into thin, even slices. Most importantly, the thickness of the potato circles should be no more than 2 millimeters.

Step 3

Rinse the resulting slices again with cold water to rinse off the remaining starch, and it is best to put on a separate plate one at a time. Then it will be convenient for you to take them and put them in butter in a hot frying pan.

Step 4

Pour sunflower oil into a deep frying pan at a distance of 2-3 centimeters and bring it to a boil at a temperature of 170 to 200 degrees. It is not recommended to make the temperature higher than 220 degrees, because the oil will smoke.

In the boiling oil in a frying pan, place the potato slices one at a time so that they do not touch each other.

The potato slices will brown very quickly. It usually takes about 5 minutes to fully cook the chips. Make sure that the chips are cooked and take out the slices right away, otherwise they will not taste good.

Step 7

Take out the ready-made chips carefully, the remaining sunflower oil should drain from them. Place the prepared chips on a plate lined with a paper towel. This will absorb the remaining oil into the paper towel.
