Sweet pastries for tea are an indispensable attribute of sincere gatherings at the table. It is especially pleasant to pamper yourself with a culinary masterpiece of your own preparation. One of these desserts is beer dough cookies.
What will come of what?
The beer cookie dough combines the characteristics of yeast (thanks to the main ingredient), crumbly shortbread and easy-to-prepare puff pastry. In order for the dough to turn out soft, and the cookies later - ruddy, it is necessary to prepare in advance all the products, which, by the way, are easy to find in almost any refrigerator:
- 400 g frozen margarine;
- 1 glass of beer (approximately 200 ml);
- 4 tbsp. sifted flour;
- 100-150 g of sugar;
- vanilla.
Cutting dough molds are also useful. In the absence of such, you can get by with a glass or any other utensils with curly edges. You will also need a convenient rolling pin and a sieve for sprinkling with powdered sugar.
How to cook
The cooking process should be started by rubbing the margarine on a coarse grater. This must be done quickly, until it melts. Next, flour, vanilla and almost all the available sugar are added to a large container to margarine. At this stage, the dough must be mixed, rubbed into coarse crumbs with your hands. And only having received such a mixture, you can add beer to it, mix until smooth. Then the resulting dough is manually kneaded for several minutes, until it becomes very soft, pliable, until it stops tearing and crumbling.
Now you can sprinkle the table with flour and roll out the dough with a rolling pin into a pancake as thick as a child's finger. And the most creative part is cutting out cookie figures. The rest of the dough between the figures is rolled out again and the process is repeated. From above, the future cookies are sprinkled with powder from the remaining sugar. You can add cinnamon. So that it does not sprinkle on top, it is easy to walk over the dough with a rolling pin, barely pressing. You need to bake cookies at a temperature of 180 ° C for 15-20 minutes on a baking sheet sprinkled with water.
Salty biscuits
There is an alternative to such a sweet recipe. Instead of sugar and vanilla, paprika, a little spicy-salted cheese, chili peppers and sesame seeds are added to the dough - in general, everything that will give the appetizer aroma and pungency. It is advisable for such a test to lie in the refrigerator for at least an hour. The cut out figures can be greased with a beaten egg and then all the "alternative" ingredients are put on top. It is also necessary to bake in a preheated oven for 20 minutes.
Such cookies can even be served with salads, as a dry hot snack. It is perfectly complemented with herbs and any sauces.
The sweet recipe is combined with homemade jams and fruit drinks. The dish acquires an interesting play of taste if you sprinkle the ready-made biscuits with lemon juice.
