The Greeks don't call their salad Greek, they call it Choriatiki. The set of vegetables in it may vary slightly, but feta is considered an invariable component of Greek salad - a soft cheese, slightly resembling feta cheese, made from sheep's milk.

It is necessary

  • - 200 g feta cheese
  • - 3 ripe tomatoes
  • - 2 small cucumbers
  • - 2 bell peppers
  • - 2 lettuce onions
  • - 80 g olives
  • - half a lemon
  • - olive oil
  • - greens
  • - pepper, salt

Instructions

Step 1

Vegetables for the preparation of salad should be taken fresh, dense and fleshy. The tastier the ingredients, the more delicious the salad will be. There is no need to grind anything, all the ingredients in the Greek salad are cut into large pieces, this is what helps to keep it attractive.

Step 2

Cut large tomatoes into slices, small ones can simply be divided into 3 or 4 parts. Cucumbers in the original recipe are supposed to be peeled, but if you got young cucumbers straight from the garden, there is no need for this. Cut the pepper into large half rings. Do the same with onions.

Step 3

Feta for salad can be sliced too, but if you want your salad to be authentic, break the cheese with your hands.

Step 4

Place the olives in a bowl and stir in the cheese until crumbly. You can leave some cheese in chunks to garnish the salad.

Step 5

Prepare a dressing by mixing lemon juice with olive oil, spices, herbs, and salt in a separate cup.

Step 6

Add the prepared vegetables to the olives, pour the dressing on top of the salad, mix gently with two spoons and serve.
