It is necessary
- - serving dish;
- - a sharp knife;
- - fresh or canned fruits;
- - gelatin or mixture for making cake jelly;
- - lemon juice;
- - icing sugar;
- - ground cinnamon;
- - sprigs of fresh mint or lemon balm.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, you need to choose a base for serving your fruit. The most common option is a large-diameter flat plate or platter. It is desirable that it be monochromatic, without ornaments and patterns.
If you have a multi-tiered serving dish in your arsenal of household utensils, this will greatly facilitate your task. On the lower tier, you can place large enough fruits, for example, oranges, apples and pears; on the middle - tangerines, plums, physalis; and at the very top - delicate strawberries, grapes, etc.
Children will be delighted with the "edible" fruit platter. Bake sweet waffles in an electric waffle iron, and while they are hot and soft, shape them into a bowl.
Step 2
A dish on which you simply lay out fresh, thoroughly washed fruit can hardly be called a fruit plate in the conventional sense. Because in most cases, this dish is not served as a portion, all fruits must be cut into small pieces and peeled from seeds and inedible rind. For the decoration of the fruit plate, it is advisable to use rather dense, not watery fruits. Canned fruit should be served separately from fresh fruit.
Cut apples and pears into slices, peel from seeds and hard core.
Citrus fruits, with the exception of tangerines, are usually cut into thin slices along with the zest. Tangerines have a more delicate texture, so either they are served whole, or they are skinned and disassembled into wedges.
Peel the bananas and cut into 3-4 pieces or slices.
Peaches, nectarines, apricots and plums are usually cut into 2-4 pieces. Be sure to remove the bones.
The grapes should be divided into small tassels. It is better to serve large grapes after removing them from the branch.
Step 3
It is no secret that many fruits are quickly oxidized and windy, becoming completely unattractive. To prevent this from happening, you can use some tricks:
Fruits that oxidize and darken under the influence of air should be sprinkled with lemon juice. This primarily applies to apples, pears and bananas.
To prevent juicy fruits and berries from winding up, they can be lightly greased with a gelatin solution or special transparent jelly for cakes.
Powdered sugar and ground cinnamon have an excellent masking and decorating effect. Just lightly sprinkle the fruit and the dish will sparkle in a new way.
