Kvass is a traditional native Russian drink. It has an excellent taste, excellent thirst quencher. This drink is rich in vitamins B1 and E, improves metabolism and has a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system. The process of making kvass is quite simple, but time consuming. At the last stage, raisins are added to it so that the kvass becomes slightly carbonated.

- 0.5 kg of rye bread;
- 5 liters of water;
- 1 cup of sugar;
- 7 grams of dry yeast or 25 grams of fresh;
- 20 gr. raisins
Instructions
Step 1
Cut the bread into pieces and dry in the oven. You can even lightly toast the bread slices.
Step 2
Pass water for kvass through the filter, and then boil.
Step 3
Pour boiling water over the crackers, and then let it brew for 3-4 hours.
Step 4
Strain the cooled wort through cheesecloth or a fine sieve.
Step 5
Pour a glass of warm wort into a separate container. Dissolve yeast in it.
Step 6
Add diluted yeast and sugar to the main bowl of wort. Stir everything well.
Step 7
Cover the kvass with a napkin and leave to ferment at room temperature for 10-12 hours.
Step 8
Strain the fermented kvass again and pour into bottles, adding washed raisins to each.
Step 9
Close the bottles tightly and let the kvass stand warm for another 3 hours, then place it in the refrigerator for storage. After 2 days, the drink will be ready.
