You can make compotes, juices, jellies, marmalades from red currants. It is especially good in jams. Cooking them is simple - even a young housewife can make red currant jam. And the benefits of such a delicacy are endless. Red currant contains vitamin C, P, B1, B, PP, carotene.

- 1 kg of red currant;
- 1.5 kg of sugar;
- 400 ml of water.
Instructions
Step 1
Place the red currant berries, peeled from twigs and leaves, into a colander (not plastic). Rinse them well under cold water.
Step 2
Heat the water in a wide saucepan. Place a colander with berries there for 5 minutes - they should be blanched.
Step 3
Pour the berries into an enamel pot. Crush them slightly with a spoon or pestle. Pour sugar there and fill everything with water.
Step 4
Put the saucepan on low heat and, stirring constantly, boil the mixture twice. As a result, it should not be liquid.
Step 5
Prepare jars for storing jam: wash them, heat over steam, dry. Add hot jam there. Close the cans with rolling lids.
Step 6
Now the cans need to be sterilized (at the rate of 500 ml - 10 minutes, 1000 ml - 15 minutes), then roll up. Store them in a cool, dry place.
