Do you want to diversify your home menu or are you just a fan of Turkish cuisine? Try to cook a simple but very tasty dish - kysyr.
This salad is very popular with both children and adults. Suitable for vegans, vegetarians and fasting people.
It is necessary
- Ingredients for 4-5 people:
- - finely ground bulgur 2 cups (you can find bulgur-millet, processed in a special way - you can find it in large supermarkets in groats departments. Unfortunately, coarsely ground bulgur is most often sold. You can use a coffee grinder to grind it to the desired size)
- - a glass of boiling water
- - 1 fresh cucumber
- - 1 fresh tomato
- - 1 bell pepper
- - medium bunch of green onions (can be replaced with onions - 1 medium onion)
- - 2-3 tablespoons of tomato paste (in Russia, tomato paste is not as saturated as in Turkey. If during the cooking process the color of the kysyr is not bright enough, you can add 1 more spoonful of paste)
- - 3 tablespoons of pomegranate sauce (if you couldn't find pomegranate sauce, add a little more lemon juice)
- - juice of a quarter of a lemon (if the pomegranate sauce is sour enough, you can skip the lemon. Do not overdo it!)
- - salt
- - half a glass of vegetable oil
- - parsley (small bunch)
- - a pinch of crushed dry mint
- - some paprika and black pepper (to taste)
Instructions
Step 1
So let's get started. Pour bulgur into a saucepan and pour boiling water over it. Cover with a lid and let it brew for about 5 minutes. At this time, you can start cutting vegetables and herbs. Cut as small as possible.
Step 2
After the bulgur has softened in water, add vegetable oil, tomato paste, pomegranate sauce and lemon juice. Mix thoroughly.
Step 3
Add chopped vegetables and herbs. Stir well again and try to determine how much salt to add (tomato paste is salty).
Step 4
Add salt and spices and mix the resulting mixture thoroughly again.
Step 5
Let the kysyr steep and soak a little before serving.
Step 6
Serve cold, garnish with leftover greens. Bon Appetit.
