Step 1
Prepare a place in the apartment where you will grow vegetables. Warm, well-lit loggias or glazed balconies are best. Wide window sills can be used if the windows face south. If the window sill is narrow, and there is no loggia or balcony, then you can place boxes with vegetables on shelves or tables next to the window.
Step 2
Make small wooden vegetable crates with 2 to 4 cm thick planks. Place a drain on the bottom of the drawer. For this, gravel and coarse river sand are suitable. Pour nutritious peat soil on top of the gravel. You can buy it at gardening stores.
Step 3
Use extended cultivation. The essence of this method is that in the fall, before the temperature drops to 8-10 degrees C, the rhizomes of the plants must be dug up and transplanted into boxes with soil. And then these boxes are placed at home or in any other warm and bright room. So you can grow tomatoes, peppers or cucumbers. With proper care, these vegetables can produce a good harvest for several winter months.

Try growing vegetables at home using hydroponics. Hydroponics is a method of growing plants that uses a substrate and nutrient solution instead of soil. Organic substances such as peat, moss, coconut fiber, etc. act as a substrate. Nowadays, hydroponics is quite popular. Step 5
Make a greenhouse for vegetables in your summer cottage or near your home, if possible. If you have little experience in the construction of such structures, it is better to order a ready-made greenhouse. Inside the greenhouse, remove the entire fertile layer of the earth, and cover the bottom and walls of the resulting trench with foam. Its thickness should be at least 5 cm. Pour the soil back onto the foam. Use the same pattern to lay styrofoam around the greenhouse to keep the cold outside. This greenhouse design will allow you to grow your favorite vegetables all winter.
