It is necessary
For syrup: -1 cup sugar -1 cup water -1 sprig of rosemary For cocktail: 4 ripe peaches in slices -1/2 ounce fresh juice from 1 lemon -1/2 ounce plain rosemary -1/2 ounce bourbon

Step 1
To make syrup:
Combine water, rosemary, and sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar completely. After boiling, reduce heat and continue cooking for up to 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. Strain through a fine mesh sieve. The resulting syrup should be kept for one week, in a sealed container, in the refrigerator.
Step 2
For a cocktail:
In a mixer, mix thoroughly the peach wedges and rosemary. Fill a shaker with ice, add lemon juice and bourbon. Shake the whole mixture for 10 seconds. Strain into a mini cocktail glass. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary. The drink is ready to serve!
