Potato casserole with ham is a delicious and original dish for a family dinner or a festive table. Rosemary gives this dish a bit of pungency and a special aroma with piney notes, while Parmesan adds spice and rich flavor.

It is necessary

    • 700 g potatoes;
    • 100 g ham;
    • 200 ml of milk;
    • 40 g parmesan;
    • 1 sprig of fresh rosemary
    • a pinch of grated nutmeg;
    • 40 g butter;
    • salt
    • pepper to taste.

Instructions

Step 1

Chop the ham into large pieces. Rinse and dry the rosemary. Chop its leaves finely (do not use the stem).

Step 2

Put the grated Parmesan in a bowl and pour milk into it in a thin stream, stirring constantly with a spoon (preferably a wooden one). Season the mixture with salt and pepper. Add chopped fresh rosemary leaves and a pinch of grated nutmeg to it.

Step 3

Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut the tubers into thin slices. Grease a baking dish with butter and place some of the chopped potatoes on the bottom.

Step 4

Pour some milk and parmesan over the potatoes. Put some of the ham and the potatoes on top of it, etc. Lay the remaining food in layers so that the last layer is the potato.

Step 5

Pour the remaining Parmesan milk into the casserole. Cut the butter into small pieces and place them on top. Cover the dish with foil.

Step 6

Preheat the oven to 200C and place the dish there. After twenty-five minutes, remove the foil and hold the ham casserole in the oven for another ten to fifteen minutes until golden brown.

Step 7

Remove the cooked potato casserole, chill slightly and serve. For a side dish, you can prepare a salad of fresh vegetables.
