The "Poleno" puff cake is prepared from only three products in half an hour, where is the vaunted "Napoleon" with his unrealistically complex recipe. The taste of the homemade delicacy is practically no different from its more famous "brother", it is very soft, airy and sweet. Relatives and guests will be delighted with a home-made dessert consisting of strips of puff pastry soaked in delicate cream. The main thing is to let the cake soak well on the refrigerator shelf, then the hostess will be 100% praised.
It is necessary
- - large package (500 g) of purchased puff pastry;
- - 400 ml of cream with a fat content of 33%;
- - a can of condensed milk (preferably more expensive, not the cheapest).
Instructions
Step 1
The finished frozen puff pastry must be freed from the packaging, thawed at room conditions, rolled into one layer, if it was in a roll. Then cut with a knife into long strips no more than 2 cm thick, as shown in the photo below.
Step 2
Now the strips need to be carefully, at some distance from each other, laid out on a baking sheet covered with parchment, baked in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 10 minutes. The criterion for readiness is the raising of the dough and its light browning.
Step 3
While the base for the "Log" cake is baked in the oven, you need to have time to prepare a sweet cream for impregnation. Take cold cream with a fat content of at least 33%, beat them with a mixer. It is enough to turn on the device for 5-6 minutes, the speed should be increased gradually, from low to high speed. When the fluffy mass starts to stick to the whisk, the whipped cream is ready. It remains to pour condensed milk into a bowl, and beat the contents again until a homogeneous sweet mass is obtained.
Step 4
Now you need to spread the cling film on the kitchen table. On it, you need to alternately lay out the finished puff pastry sticks on top of each other, about 6-8 pieces in a row. Each row should be coated with a thick layer of dense cream, making sure that it saturates each stick, flows along the sides and under it. In total, 3-4 rows can be made, each stacked on top of the other, as in the photo below.
Step 5
A little cream can be left to spread over the top of the cake by covering the container on top with cling film. After impregnation of each row, you need to wrap the film in a roll, forming an appetizing "log" from the contents. Thanks to this shape, the cake got its name. It is recommended to wrap the film from above with foil for reliability.
Step 6
The last stage is impregnation. You should put the "Log" in the refrigerator for several hours (better - overnight). Then take it out, unfold it, remove the film, transfer it to a beautiful dish, decorate with the remaining cream.
