Until the days of May, there is a fast, during which all Orthodox Christians make sure to devote themselves completely to prayers and abstain from rich meals. It is they, sweet and rich dishes, that are the object of seduction in everyday life. Fasting is a kind of message to free the body from the use of harmful foods and to adopt proper nutrition.

Fasting is not only the rational use of a plant product, but also the understanding that the whole way of life should be dedicated to God. These are daily prayers, the absence of negative thoughts in relation to their loved ones, ordinary people. Observance of the fast is a rather difficult attitude of an ordinary person to this fact.

For food on these days, an Orthodox person can compose his own dishes at his own discretion. The main thing is that they lack meat and dairy ingredients.

To make lean soup you need:

  • beets - 1 pc.;
  • cabbage - 200 g;
  • onion - 1 pc.;
  • carrots - 2 pcs.;
  • beans - 100 g;
  • parsley - 100 g;
  • mushrooms - 300 g;
  • salt to taste.

Lean soup can be cooked in a slow cooker if you prepare the beans in advance. To do this, it must be soaked in water overnight. And in the morning, you can put all the ingredients in a slow cooker or in a saucepan (if cooking is on the stove) and darken for an hour.

Mushrooms can be pre-stewed in water, but in a saucepan with all the ingredients, they can also reach their cooking level. If there is an opportunity for those who do not observe a strict fast, add vegetable oil, then it is quite possible to add a little olive oil to the soup.
