The Potato cake is perhaps one of the easiest to prepare and favorite treats since childhood. A dessert is prepared from cookies, cocoa and nuts, sometimes with the addition of biscuit.
It is necessary
-
- 700g of any dry biscuits ("Strawberry"
- "Jubilee", etc.);
- 200g condensed milk;
- packing of butter (200g);
- 5 tsp dry cocoa powder;
- coconut or nuts (optional)
Instructions
Step 1
Grate cookies, mince or grind in a blender.
Step 2
Melt the butter in a water bath and combine with condensed milk.
Step 3
Add cocoa powder and stir well again.
Step 4
Pour the crushed biscuits into the mixture and knead the dough.
Step 5
Form into oblong cakes that resemble potatoes. Or give them a round shape.
Step 6
Refrigerate for 20-25 minutes.
Step 7
If desired, the resulting cakes can be sprinkled with coconut on top or decorated with nuts to make them look more like potatoes, depicting characteristic "sprouts".
Step 8
To achieve a more pronounced aroma and enhance the taste of cocoa, professional pastry chefs advise adding a drop of cognac or rum to the dough.
Step 9
Along with cookies, you can also use the remains of biscuit or shortcrust pastry or vanilla rusks to make the potato cake. The procedure is preserved in this case.
Step 10
If you want to give the cake a more festive look (for example, for a children's party), you can easily turn the potato cake into a hedgehog dessert.
Step 11
To do this, it is enough to form balls of arbitrary size from the finished dough and stretch one side a little to create a spout for the hedgehog. It is very easy to create “needles” using petals from almonds or seeds. Eyes can be made from cream or nuts in chocolate.
