In addition, any cottage cheese can be used - both fat and low-fat, store or homemade. But it is easy to replace butter with good margarine like "Hostess", "For baking".

To knead a crumbly, tender dough, you will need only 4 ingredients available in every store, and a zealous hostess has at home in grocery supplies:

  • 200 g of any cottage cheese;
  • 200 g butter or quality margarine;
  • 200 g wheat flour;
  • 2 egg yolks.

Also, the ingredients do not specify granulated sugar in any required amount. The fact is that sugar (1-2 tablespoons) can be added both to the dough itself when kneading, or used for sprinkling. The second option is more preferable, as it turns out tastier. 3) Grind the contents of the bowl with your hands into a homogeneous sticky mass, add the egg yolks.

4) Transfer the dough to a floured table, knead well again, adding flour to your hands if necessary. As a result, the dough should not stick to your hands, become homogeneous, elastic. It all depends on the softness and fat content of the cottage cheese, its original consistency.

5) Roll a ball of dough, as in the photo below, place in a bowl in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.

6) Take out the chilled dough, divide into 2-3 parts, roll each into a round layer. Cut all the cakes into 8-12 triangles as shown in the photo.

7) Twist each triangle into a nice bagel, starting from the widest to the narrowest. Leave straight or shape into a small bow, bringing the ends together. Sprinkle the bagels with granulated sugar to make them sweet.

8) Grease or cover a baking sheet with parchment, lay out the cottage cheese rolls, bake in the oven for 25 minutes at 210 degrees.

Ready-made crispy bagels can be served with tea, coffee as a separate homemade pastry or together with jam, preserves. For flavor, it is recommended to sprinkle them with cinnamon powder or icing sugar on top.
