It is necessary

  • - 1 cup of sugar,
  • - 100 g margarine or butter,
  • - 2 eggs,
  • - about 500 g flour,
  • - baking powder,
  • - salt,
  • - a mixture of spices - cinnamon, cloves, ginger, cardamom, nutmeg (mix in a ratio of 2: 1: 1: 1: 1).
  • For painting:
  • - icing sugar,
  • - egg whites,
  • - food or natural dyes,
  • - wooden skewers,
  • - gripper bags,
  • - stationery clips.

Instructions

Step 1

The gingerbread dough should be prepared first. To do this, over low heat in a thick-walled dish, you need to burn 1/2 cup of sugar, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon so that the sugar does not burn out. Gradually add 1/2 cup of boiling water to the melted sugar (do not bend over the dishes and stir the mass constantly). Add another 1/2 cup of sugar to the resulting mixture, dissolve it completely. Add margarine (or butter) and melt.

Step 2

Put a pinch of salt in the cooled mass, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 tbsp. l. mixture of ground spices and gradually add flour. Knead the mass well (the dough should turn out steep), place in a bag and put in the refrigerator for 10-12 hours.

Remove the dough from the refrigerator, choose the molds - they should not be too large, otherwise the stick will not withstand the gingerbread. Roll out a small piece of dough, cut out the figures.

Step 3

Place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper or silicone mat. Place in an oven preheated to 180 ° for 5-6 minutes.

Immediately after baking, insert skewers into the hot gingerbread cookies, then leave the gingerbread cookies for a while to harden the sticks.

Step 4

While the gingerbread cookies are cooling, prepare the icing. Beat 1 egg white with 150 g icing sugar. Color the glaze with dyes and arrange in bags, closing with stationery clips. Make a small hole in the corner of the bag. Pressing on it, paint the gingerbread. The thickness of the holes can be adjusted and, using your own imagination, you can get any pattern.
