In recent years, Japanese cuisine has been very popular among Russians. If earlier people could taste sushi and rolls only in specialized restaurants, today many have learned how to make these dishes at home. Baked rolls are among the most delicious in Japanese cuisine. They can be made with shrimp, scallops, mussels, tuna, salmon, and more. Baked rolls are prepared in almost the same way as ordinary ones.

It is necessary

    • rice
    • rice vinegar
    • sugar
    • salt
    • nori seaweed sheets
    • bamboo mat
    • filling ingredients (tuna
    • salmon
    • shrimp
    • avocado, etc.).
    • For the roast mix:
    • mayonnaise
    • small caviar
    • ketchup.

Instructions

Step 1

Rinse the rice. Fill it with water and start stirring it gently. When the water becomes cloudy, drain it. Squeeze the rice gently. Rinse it two or three more times until the water runs clear and let it dry a little.

Step 2

Place the rice in a deep bowl and cover with water. One cup of rice requires 250 ml of water. Bring it to a boil over high heat. Then simmer for 12 minutes. After the water has completely boiled away, remove the pan from the stove and let the rice steep for about 15 minutes more.

Step 3

Prepare a rice dressing. Take rice vinegar (about 25 g for one cup of rice). Mix it with 15 g sugar and 5 g salt. Stir the vinegar until the salt and sugar are completely dissolved. To make this happen faster, you can heat it up a little.

Step 4

Put the hot rice in an even layer in a bowl in which you will stir it. Add the dressing and start stirring. Do this carefully so as not to compromise the integrity of the beans. It is better to make cutting rather than stirring movements. First move the rice to one side of the pan and then back. When it is well soaked in the dressing, line it up and cover with a paper napkin or towel.

Step 5

Prepare the filling. Cut the ingredients to be used into thin strips. For example, fish, avocado. Shrimp need not be cut if they are small. You can also use mild Japanese mayonnaise and cheese in rolls. Also prepare a mixture, in which you can then decorate the rolls, and which will create a beautiful crust when baked. For example, you can mix mayonnaise with flying fish roe (or replace it with any other small roe). You can add a little ketchup to this mixture.

Step 6

Take a sheet of nori seaweed and place it on the smooth side of the bamboo mat. Place all ingredients on the rough side. Moisten your hands with vinegar, take some rice and spread evenly on the nori. At the same time, leave the upper and lower edges of the seaweed free, about 1 cm. Place the filling closer to the upper edge. You can use one filling, or you can combine ingredients.

Step 7

Place your thumbs under the rug and hold the filling with the rest. Begin to fold it gently. When the upper edge of the nori touches the lower one, bend the upper edge of the mat up, and roll the roll on the mat, you can squeeze it a little with your hands so that the edges stick to each other more tightly. Take a sharp knife and dip it in rice vinegar. Cut the roll in half and then cut each half into a few more pieces.

Step 8

Place the resulting rolls on a baking sheet or ovenproof plate, pour over the baking mixture and place in the oven for 7 minutes, until golden brown appears. The baked rolls are ready.
