The composition of olive oil is very close to the fatty component of the human body. This means that it is ideally absorbed, saturates the body with useful substances and even heals! Olives are grown in the Mediterranean, as well as in Ukraine, Georgia, Iran, India and other countries. Healing olive oil is also produced there.

Step 1

If you are an olive tree owner and want to try making your own olive oil, you can try, but there is no guarantee that you will succeed. This is a very laborious process that requires the use of special technologies. The process consists of the following stages:

Step 2

You need to pick the olives first, and experts believe that it is best to pick the olives by hand to avoid damaging them. The fastest way is to knock on the tree with long sticks: the fruits fall to the ground. A more time-consuming but gentle approach is to "comb" the branches with a special comb. At the same time, the branches are not damaged at all, and the olives are neatly placed in the basket.

Step 3

Then the olives need to be crushed and divided into mass. Specialists do it like this: after the harvest is harvested, it is taken to the oil factory; sorted, cleanly washed olives are conveyed to the mill; millstones grind the fruits; the resulting mass is whipped and conventionally divided into three parts: future oil, water and dry residue. Separation is the hardest part of production.

Step 4

Now the oil needs to be squeezed out of the resulting mass. At the enterprise, the future oil at this stage is cakes from olive paste, which come under a hydraulic press. As a result of pressing, the olive oil is squeezed out of the paste. This produces the highest quality olive oil. The second and third pressings produce a lower quality oil.

Step 5

And yet - the best oil is obtained from freshly harvested olives. Experts and producers say that it is impossible to make olive oil at home. If you don't want to experiment and prefer to buy the very best product, look for labels that say "Extra Virgin Olive Oil". This unfiltered oil, containing the maximum amount of all the essential elements, is very beneficial to health. Slightly worse is Virgin Olive Oils. Unrefined extra virgin olive oil is a rather expensive product. The high price is also set because most of the factories are located in Europe. The leading positions are occupied by Spain and Italy.
