The emergence of the well-known California rolls, the recipe of which was invented by a Japanese sushi in one of the American restaurants, gave rise to numerous experiments with various ingredients in the preparation of this Japanese dish. In the period of mass popularization of Japanese cuisine, such iconic recipes as "Philadelphia" rolls, New York, Texas and Boston rolls appeared. The process of making Boston rolls is quite simple and with all the necessary ingredients, you can easily make them at home.
It is necessary
- - ready-made rice for sushi;
- - nori algae;
- - green onions;
- - red fish;
- - salmon;
- - avocado;
- - cucumber;
- - wasabi.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare sushi rice by boiling washed rice in water for 7 minutes. Fill it with 2 tbsp. spoons of rice vinegar.
Step 2
Prepare the necessary ingredients for the filling. Peel the avocado, remove the seeds and cut the fruit into small pieces. Cut the cucumber and fish into thin strips.
Step 3
Boston roll can be made with rice outside or inside. Spread out the bamboo mat on the table and place a sheet of pressed nori seaweed on top. This should be done with dry hands so that the algae does not get wet. Lay a 1-1.5 cm layer of sushi rice on the surface of the sheet.
Step 4
Brush a layer of rice with a little wasabi and add the prepared fish, cucumber, avocado and onion filling for the roll. Optionally add a layer of mayonnaise or cream cheese.
Step 5
Wrap the roll with bamboo makis and cut it into several equal portions. Garnish the Boston rolls with pickled ginger before serving.
