Homemade cake can be decorated with icing or cream, but the most spectacular and delicious decor option is fruit. Beautifully sliced and stacked fruits give an elegant look even to a simple dessert. Cover the fruit with a thin layer of water-diluted jam or jelly to keep the fruit shiny and dry.

It is necessary

  • - a variety of fruits and berries;
  • - shortcrust pastry;
  • - custard;
  • - jam;
  • - fruit juice;
  • - gelatin.

Instructions

Step 1

Any fruits and berries are suitable for decorating the cake. Choose large, undamaged copies. Sometimes, for greater decorativeness, sepals or twigs are left in the berries. Pay attention to special varieties of strawberries or kiwi, not too tasty, but very beautiful. But overripe soft fruits are not suitable for decoration, it is better to use them for filling.

Step 2

When thinking over the decor, consider the color scheme of the fruit. Bright fruits look especially impressive: green, red, orange, yellow. The most popular are strawberries, gooseberries, grapes, oranges and lemons. Indispensable in the decoration of carambola. The ribbed fruit is cut into transverse slices and beautiful stars are obtained that look very decorative.

Step 3

To keep the fruit firmly on the surface of the cake, lay them on a layer of cream. For fruit cakes, dense creams are ideal - custard or butter, as well as a variety of soufflés with the addition of gelatin.

Step 4

Try to make a cake decorated with different fruits. Place the pre-prepared shortbread dough in a round detachable form and carefully distribute it along the bottom and walls. The sides should not be too high. Place baking paper on top of the dough and sprinkle beans or peas. Bake the crust until golden brown.

Step 5

Cool the finished cake. Cook a thick custard with milk, eggs, granulated sugar and vanillin. Chill the cream and place in a thick layer on the crust.

Step 6

Prepare your fruit. Wash and dry large black grapes, oranges and kiwi cut into thin slices, each halved. Place orange slices in the form of scales around the edge, then place black grapes, fill the center with kiwi slices. Roll a cone out of an orange mug and secure it in the middle of the cake.

Step 7

Prepare the fill. Mix a few tablespoons of jellied lemon jam with hot water and heat, stirring constantly. Cool the filling slightly and pour over the fruit. You can try another option. Mix a tablespoon of gelatin with warm water and, stirring, dissolve it, heating it on the stove. Add two-thirds of a glass of clear juice (like grape juice). Let the mixture cool and pour over the fruit. The finished cake should stand until the jelly hardens on its surface.

Step 8

A cake decorated with fruit has a drawback - it is inconvenient to cut. To make it easier for yourself, cut the cake into neat slices in advance, and only then start decorating. Thus, it is worth preparing biscuit cakes. First, use a deep metal notch to cut out the middle, and then divide the cake into even segments. Such a portioned dessert looks very beautiful on the festive table.

Step 9

You can also use fruit boiled in syrup to decorate the cake. To make them translucent, the fruits are boiled in 4-5 steps using concentrated sugar syrup. The finished fruit must be removed from the filling and dried on a wire rack, and then spread on the cake. Similarly, you can cook pears, apples, quince and other hard fruits.
