Chakhokhbili is a national Georgian dish made from poultry. The main feature of the dish is stewing fried poultry meat in a dry frying pan, which is then cooked in a fragrant thick sauce. The dish turns out to be very tasty, tender and satisfying.
It is necessary
- -1 homemade chicken,
- - medium sized tomatoes - 7 pieces,
- -2 onions,
- -3 cloves of garlic,
- -3 sweet bell peppers,
- -10 potatoes,
- - a little fine sea salt,
- - a little ground black pepper.
Instructions
Step 1
We wash the carcass of homemade chicken well. We cut the chicken in portions. We put in a volumetric cup or saucepan, salt, pepper, mix well and leave for ten minutes.
Step 2
In a preheated frying pan, fry the meat with fat down until golden brown.
Step 3
We make a cross cut on each tomato. Fill with boiling water for one minute and carefully remove the skin. Cut the peeled tomatoes into small cubes.
Step 4
We wash the bell pepper and remove the seeds, cut into medium cubes. Chop the garlic cloves. Cut the peeled onions into medium cubes and divide into two parts.
Step 5
Transfer the fried chicken to a thick-walled saucepan. Put one part of the onion, chopped garlic, chopped bell peppers and tomatoes to the chicken. Salt a little. We close the pan with a lid and put on low heat, cook for 15 minutes.
Step 6
Fry the second part of the onion in hot vegetable oil until golden brown.
Put the fried onions in a saucepan and cook for another half hour.
Step 7
We wash and peel the potatoes, cut into large cubes.
When the chicken is ready, add the potatoes to the pot. Salt a little, cover with a lid and put the pan with chakhokhbili in the oven (180 degrees) for half an hour.
Step 8
Juicy and soft chicken meat with potatoes is ready. Stir gently with a wooden spatula, place on portioned plates and serve.
