Dzadziki sauce is a very popular Greek sauce, almost every Greek housewife prepares it from time to time. Other variants of the name of the sauce are tzatziki or tzatziki. The sauce contains natural Greek yogurt, fresh cucumbers, garlic and herbs. The sauce is prepared quickly, it has a very delicate summer aroma, fresh taste.

It is necessary

  • - 500 g of thick Greek sauce or low-fat sour cream;
  • - 2 fresh cucumbers;
  • - 4 cloves of garlic;
  • - 4 tbsp. tablespoons of olive oil;
  • - 2 tbsp. tablespoons of lemon juice;
  • - black pepper, salt, dill.

Instructions

Step 1

Rinse cucumbers, peel, grate. Put in cheesecloth, squeeze out all the juice thoroughly so that the sauce does not turn out to be overly liquid because of it. You can just add a little salt to the grated cucumbers and squeeze the juice by hand - as you like. Squeeze the juice out of the lemon, we need about 2 tablespoons.

Step 2

Put low-fat sour cream or thick Greek yogurt in a deep bowl, and put the cucumbers there. Peel the cloves of garlic, rinse, pass through the garlic clove into the sauce. Rinse the dill, dry it, chop it. Add to sauce. Pour lemon juice, olive oil there, pepper, salt to taste. Mix thoroughly, put in the refrigerator to cool for at least half an hour.

Ready-made Dzadziki sauce is often served with bread and vegetables as a dip sauce, but it is also suitable for fried fish and meat. They can be stuffed with boiled eggs or tomatoes, or simply spread on bread and served for breakfast. The sauce is also suitable for a festive table, it will be appropriate even on a New Year's table, because in winter there are so many summer ingredients in the menu! The finished sauce is stored in the refrigerator for no more than three days.
