Meatball recipes are found in many national cuisines, and in each case they have their own characteristic "zest". This also applies to the Finnish meatball recipe, the delicate taste of which will appeal to even picky gourmets.
You will need:
1 large onion
500 grams of mixed minced meat (pork and beef);
200 grams of sour cream 20% fat;
1 egg;
1 tablespoon bread crumbs
1 tablespoon butter (melt and cool);
1 teaspoon of salt, black pepper to taste;
vegetable oil for frying onions and meatballs.
Mix sour cream and breadcrumbs into a homogeneous mass, set aside for 15 minutes. During this time, finely chop the onions and fry them in a little oil until golden brown. Add an egg, ghee, minced meat, fried onions, salt and pepper to the sour cream-rusks mixture. Mix everything together, and then beat slightly. Using a teaspoon, form small balls from the resulting mass - meatballs, fry them in oil on all sides until golden brown.
Finnish housewives serve such meatballs with lingonberry grated with sugar sauce and mashed potatoes.
