Turmeric is a seasoning with a rich yellow color. This hot-tasting spice is used by the hostess not only as a seasoning for dishes, but also as a natural dye. For example, on the eve of Easter, eggs are painted with turmeric.
It is necessary
- - eggs in a white shell;
- - water;
- - turmeric;
- - salt;
- - butter.
Instructions
Step 1
In order to end up with a light yellow product, it is better to take eggs in a white shell for work. Before boiling, it is advisable to wash the eggs, and when washing it is better to use a hard sponge to smooth out all the unevenness of the shell, remove plaque. The procedure does not take much time, however, thanks to it, the eggs will stain more evenly.
Step 2
Next, you need to place the eggs in a saucepan, pour enough water into it so that all the eggs are completely covered with water, add salt (1/2 tablespoon per liter of water). Then place the container on the fire and bring the water to a boil, cook after boiling for 12-15 minutes.
Step 3
Over time, drain the boiling water and pour cold water into a saucepan. Allow the eggs to cool completely (this takes 10-15 minutes). Wipe the cooled eggs with a towel, let dry completely.
Step 4
In a container in which eggs will be stained, mix a liter of water and 20 grams of turmeric (bags of 20 grams are sold, if there is only a large bag with turmeric, then you need to take a tablespoon of the product). Heat the mixture to almost a boil, remove from heat, then place boiled eggs in it. The dyeing time depends on the desired color of the eggs, a slight yellowish tint is obtained by keeping the eggs in the solution for 15 minutes; for a more saturated color, it is required to hold the eggs in the dyeing liquid for an hour.
Step 5
After completing the procedure, it is enough to wipe the eggs with a napkin. However, you can give the product a prettier look, for example, rub each egg with a cloth dipped in vegetable oil, or decorate with stickers.
