Japanese food is very healthy and light. But there is still an opinion that it is incredibly difficult to cook Japanese dishes, and the products for them are expensive and exotic. This is not entirely true. Try fried salmon and avocado rolls. And you will see that it is not at all as difficult as it seems at first glance. And the result will be no worse than in your favorite restaurant.

It is necessary

    • For rolls:
    • 1 cup sushi rice
    • 1 and ¼ glasses of water;
    • 3 tablespoons sushi vinegar
    • 1 avocado
    • 1 small cucumber;
    • 100 g lightly salted salmon;
    • nori.
    • For batter:
    • 1 egg;
    • 1 cup tempura flour;
    • 1 glass of water.

Instructions

Step 1

Cover the rice with water and put the pot over the fire. When the water boils, reduce heat and cook the rice for 12-15 minutes. Do not stir it or open the lid of the pot. When the rice is cooked, cool it down. It should be nicely warm, but not hot. Then pour the sushi vinegar into the rice and stir well.

Step 2

Prepare the filling for the rolls. Peel the avocado and remove the pit. Cut the flesh into elongated slices. Cut the cucumber into thin strips and the fish into thin slices.

Step 3

Wrap the sushi mat with cling film. Place a sheet of nori on it with the matte, rough side up. Sprinkle the seaweed leaf lightly with water. Wet your hands and gently spread the rice over the nori.

Step 4

Step back 2 to 3 cm from the edge and place the filling on top of the rice. Stack fish and avocado with cucumber as tightly as possible. Lift the edge of the bamboo mat and hold the filling with your fingers and begin to gently roll the roll. Seal the contents of the roll by pressing lightly on the mat.

Step 5

Make batter dough. Break the egg into a glass, pour the water into it and whisk the mixture. Pour the sifted flour into a deep bowl, gradually add the egg-water mixture there and quickly knead the dough. In consistency, the batter should resemble liquid sour cream.

Step 6

Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan. Dip the roll in flour, dip in batter and gently dip in hot oil. Fry the roll for 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Place it on a paper towel to drain off excess grease.

Step 7

Cut the roll into several pieces with a sharp knife. Serve hot. Don't forget to serve the dish with pickled ginger and wasabi.
