The body of an adult can still cope with industrially made cottage cheese, but children are very sensitive to such products. Of course, you can buy cottage cheese on the agricultural market. But when there is no such opportunity, you can make cottage cheese for a child yourself.
Recipe for making cottage cheese at home
Ingredients:
- milk - 600 ml;
- oxidizing agent - 2-3 tbsp. l. (use bioyogurt, sourdough, sour cream or lemon juice as an oxidizing agent);
- natural flavors (vanilla, jam, marmalade, etc.).
How to cook baby homemade cottage cheese
The first stage: making yogurt. Pour milk into a saucepan, add a couple of tablespoons of oxidizer (of your choice, but fatty sour cream is best for children) and leave the mixture to sour on the kitchen table or other warm place. Make sure that no foreign objects, water or insects get there. Sour milk is formed after 2 days of souring.
The second stage of making homemade cottage cheese for children: cooking cottage cheese. Gently place the finished yogurt in a water bath and cook over low heat until cottage cheese is formed. Readiness is easy to determine - the product should completely separate from the whey (cook for about 10-15 minutes). About 100 g of cottage cheese is obtained from a portion of curdled milk.
Follow the process carefully. If overcooked, the curd will become tough and your child will not eat it. After finishing cooking, let the curd cool well, and then separate from the whey using a fine mesh sieve.
Cottage cheese can be given to children as breakfast or for dessert, sprinkled with any jam or mixed with vanilla.
