This garnish is one of the most beloved in our country. You can make mashed potatoes with milk both for a regular dinner and for a festive one, because it is universal and allows you to experiment with the look. Puree goes well with any meat, poultry, fish, vegetables and allows you to feel full for a long time.
It is necessary
- - potatoes - 1.5 kilograms
- - milk 3.5% - 100 ml
- - butter - 50 grams
- - salt
Instructions
Step 1
The potatoes are washed, peeled and cut into 2 or 4 pieces, depending on the size of the tubers. This is done so that it cooks faster. Then it is placed in a saucepan, filled with water, salted and put on fire. Water should be poured so much that it slightly covers the tubers.
Step 2
After the water boils, the fire is reduced to a minimum, and the potatoes are cooked over this heat. The readiness of the tubers is checked with a fork or knife - you need to pierce one piece and see how softly the device enters.
Step 3
While the potatoes are boiling, you should start preparing the milk. It must be poured into the puree hot, otherwise the finished dish may turn out to be an ugly dark shade. Therefore, the milk is heated to a boil on the stove or in the microwave. When the potatoes are boiled, you need to drain the water from the pan, holding the lid so that the tubers themselves do not fall out. Then butter is added, it is desirable that it is not completely frozen - this will make it easier to knead.
Step 4
Boiled potatoes with butter are kneaded with a "crush". To do this, you can use a wooden device or a stainless steel zigzag one. The main thing is that the puree is kneaded thoroughly and there are no lumps left in it. Hot milk is added, everything is mixed and whipped. You need so much milk to make the puree slightly liquid, because after a while it will thicken.
Step 5
If there is not enough milk, it should be warmed up more. If you did not plan to immediately eat the cooked mashed potatoes with milk, then you should wrap it up so that it cools less. After all, this dish, like many others, is especially tasty when cooked.
