If you want to cook an interesting Italian dish, you don't have to make pizza. You can cook pita, whose homeland is Naples. In simple words, this dish is a thin lavash pie stuffed with cheese. By the way, pizza and pita are of the same Mediterranean origin.
It is necessary
- For six people:
- - puff pastry - 300 g;
- - freshly ground pepper - to taste;
- - dill - 2 tsp;
- - Feta cheese - 200 g;
- - chicken egg - 3 pcs;
- - frozen spinach - 500 g;
- - onions - 1 pc;
- - olive oil - 2 tablespoons
Instructions
Step 1
Fry the chopped onion in olive oil, add the spinach and continue simmering until the spinach is thawed. Do not spend more than 10 minutes on this procedure.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine mashed cheese, two eggs, a teaspoon of dill, cooled onions and spinach. Mix all ingredients well.
Step 3
Roll out the puff pastry to make two cakes, measuring 30 by 30 centimeters. Grease the bottom layer with olive oil, place on a baking sheet, making a small side.
Step 4
Place the prepared filling on the bottom cake layer. Moisten the edges of the dough with water, cover with a top layer and pinch the edges.
Step 5
Brush the top of the pie with a beaten egg, sprinkle evenly with the rest of the dill. Preheat oven to 200oC and bake the pita in it for 40 minutes, until golden brown. You can serve this dish both cold and hot.
