A multicooker can replace a number of kitchen appliances: a hob, oven, yoghurt maker and even a double boiler. Steamed vegetables retain the maximum amount of vitamins and are very beneficial for the gastrointestinal tract.
A steamer is sold with any multicooker - a special basket for steaming. You can cook absolutely any vegetables in it: carrots, cabbage, zucchini, potatoes, beets and many others. Vegetables should be washed and cut into small cubes before cooking. It is recommended to remove the skin and seeds from pumpkin, zucchini and other similar products.
Pour water into the multicooker bowl, and put a steamer on top. Vegetable cubes should be placed in it. The lid of the multicooker must be tightly closed, put into the "Steam" mode and set the time. The cooking time depends on several factors: the power of the appliance, the type and size of vegetables. General recommendations are as follows: carrots and potatoes cook for 30 minutes, beets for 40 minutes.
When preparing the vinaigrette, you can immediately cut all the ingredients into small cubes: beets, carrots and potatoes. They can be steamed at a time. In this case, the beets must be placed on the bottom of the steamer, otherwise they will immediately color the rest of the vegetables. The cooking time for finely chopped vegetables does not exceed 30 minutes.
Vegetables are steamed in a slow cooker without adding any oils and fats. They can also be stewed and baked in their own juice. Thanks to this, all vitamins and microelements contained in vegetables will be preserved in the resulting dish.
