The fried perch is incredibly tasty, especially the crispy golden crust. But not all housewives like to cook this fish, because it has poorly detached small and hard scales. And the perch itself still has thorny fins. So how can you peel this delicious fish? It turns out there are several easy ways.
Instructions
Step 1
The simplest thing is to place the perch in the freezer. After it freezes a little, take a knife and try to peel off the scales. It should come off easily. You can also peel off the scales with the prongs of a fork instead of a knife.
Step 2
You can also dip the perch in boiling water for a few seconds. This is quite enough so that only the skin with scales is exposed to the hot effect, and the meat remains intact. Then clean the perch as described in the first step.
Step 3
It is very effective to remove scales from a perch using a special device. This tool can be purchased at the store. It is a knife for cleaning scales, in addition to it there is a board with a clamp for holding slippery fish.
Step 4
You can make such a device yourself. To do this, take a not thick narrow board, no more than 20-30 cm long, cut off both edges of one end so that you get a handle. Work (round off) sharp corners on the wider part. Use a screwdriver or screwdriver to screw beer bottle caps or a strip from an old vegetable grater on one side of the board. Now you can safely clean any fish.
Step 5
If you do not want to engage in the manufacture of such a tool, then you can try to peel the perch using a regular vegetable grater.
Step 6
In the most difficult cases, if the scales cannot be cleaned using the above methods or do not want to do this, then you can simply remove it along with the skin. To do this, slightly freeze the fish in the refrigerator, cut on the back and remove the skin. True, when frying such a perch, you will not get an appetizing crisp crust.
