It is necessary

  • - water;
  • - millet;
  • - ground walnut;
  • - honey;
  • - raisins and dried apricots;
  • - poppy.

Instructions

Step 1

There is an old cooking technology, according to which you need to use whole wheat, not crushed. Sometimes millet was replaced with barley, but the dish with this cereal turns out to be not so tasty. First you need to peel the millet with water. Rinse the cereals thoroughly in cold water and soak the millet for several hours.

Step 2

Then drain the old water and add fresh water. Place the pan with millet on the tile. As soon as you see that the water begins to boil, begin to simmer the cereals. Reduce heat and cover saucepan. Wait until the millet becomes pliable and soft, sometimes it can take more than one hour.

Step 3

During the preparation of cereals, you need to steam the dried apricots and raisins. Place them in a bowl and add boiling water. The water should cover them completely. Next, arrange a "bath", close the dried fruit with a lid.

Step 4

Check the wheat grits, if they are soft, then turn off the gas and drain the water. Throw the steamed dried fruits in a colander - all the water will drain. Then add the raisins and dried apricots to the grain. Pour ground walnuts into this bowl. Stir the dish. Add honey if desired. Our ancestors also added poppy to this dish, so if you are a supporter of ancient traditions, you have the opportunity to do everything according to the old rules.
