Focaccia is a traditional Italian bread made from yeast or unleavened dough. Typically, a tortilla contains three ingredients: flour, water, and olive oil. For flavorful bread, herbs such as rosemary and thyme are added to the bread.
It is necessary
- Ingredients for 4 tortillas:
- - flour - 450 g;
- - fast-acting yeast - 2 teaspoons;
- - coarse sea salt;
- - a tablespoon of chopped herbs - rosemary and thyme;
- - water - 250-300 ml;
- - 4 tablespoons of olive oil;
- - a few sprigs of rosemary for decoration.
Instructions
Step 1
Sift the flour into a large cup, add yeast and a teaspoon of sea salt. We add aromatic herbs, mix the ingredients. Gradually add water and olive oil, knead the dough, transfer it to the work surface and knead thoroughly for 10 minutes.
Step 2
Grease a clean bowl with oil, put the dough in it and cover with cling film or a damp cloth. We put it in a warm place - the dough should double in volume, this will take at least 1 hour.
Step 3
On the raised dough, we hit it lightly with a fist so that the air comes out. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts. Roll each part into an oval no more than 1 centimeter thick. We grease the baking sheets with vegetable oil, spread the cakes on them and cover them with cling film, previously oiled. We leave for 20 minutes so that the cakes come up.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to 220 ° C. Inject rosemary needles into each focaccia, sprinkle the cakes with sea salt and sprinkle with olive oil. Bake the focaccia for 15-20 minutes, let it cool and serve immediately.
