The water evaporated under the influence of the sun's rays, and the salt remained on the soil, that is, its extraction, as such, was not needed - it was simply taken and used in cooking. A little later, people began to create wooden reservoirs in coastal areas to collect sea water. After drying, the crystals were collected by hand, which is actually done to this day. In fact, the way this mineral is mined has not changed over the centuries.

Useful qualities of sea salt

If ordinary table salt, which a person uses on a daily basis, consists only of sodium chloride, then sea salt contains many beneficial trace elements, for example, potassium, magnesium, chlorine, zinc, calcium, copper, iodine and many others. It not only does not contribute to the accumulation of excess fluid in the human body, but also, due to the high content of bromine and magnesium in it, removes its excess, eliminating edema.

As a result of many years of medical research, it has been proven that sea salt normalizes intracranial and blood pressure, helps to get rid of chronic migraines.

The high iodine content in the composition of sea salt helps to cope with the problems of the thyroid gland, has a beneficial effect on the work of the cardiovascular and nervous systems of the human body.

In addition, sea salt contains selenium, which prevents the appearance and development of cancer cells, that is, it fights cancer.

How to choose and how to store sea salt

For use as a rejuvenating agent, that is, for taking salt baths, coarse sea salt is suitable. But for cooking, it is better to choose finely ground salt, since it dissolves faster.

The largest amount of nutrients is contained not in pure white salt, but in sulfur. The gray color indicates the presence of oceanic clay and the sea plant dunaliella in its composition, which has unsurpassed antioxidant qualities.

When buying, you need to pay attention to the quality of the raw materials in the package - it should be freely poured and not have traces of moisture. Store sea salt in a dry, dark place in an airtight container. It is best to use a glass container with a tight lid for this.
